After careful consideration Linkshell leadership has decided that our lotting system was not working, and have decided to make a change.
First I would like to point out the reasons for the change. We have received several complaints from members that they feel cheated out of a piece of armor they have been seeking for several months if not years, only to have someone with far less time served in the linkshell get to lot and obtain this piece over them.
To fix this problem many ideas were thrown out for us to think about and decide on. We have decided that we are going to do a point system with a silent bidding to enable fair drops.
How Silent Bidding Works:
When a relic drops anyone that has 2 or more points to bid and has search comment set to lot that specific job can place a silent bid by /tell Albak, if they bid the highest amount of points, that person will then be asked to lot the gear. Points will be deducted from the highest bidder only. If two people bid the same and its the highest bid then both players will be asked to lot, only the winner will have points deducted.
Again, Albak will be taking all silent bids. When a piece of armor drops you want, just simply /tell Albak "Number of points you want to bid". Albak will then advise the winner after all bids are taken. The winner lots.
You will not be able to make a counter offer if you are out bid by another member, so take into consideration how much you value that piece and how many points you are willing to give up to obtain it before giving your silent bid to Albak.
Each run that you attend will earn you 2 points.
The Minimum bid you can make is 2 points.
Even if no one else is bidding on a particular piece of equipment, you must bid at least the minimum to be able to lot exclusively. If you do not wish to spend points on the armor then it will go to open lot and free for anyone to lot.
No half points either. Full points only.
Also if you are afk during the bidding process and a leader calls the winning bidder, at this point it is to late to enter your bid. So don't go afk habitually for long periods of time, which you shouldn't be doing anyway... or you may lose out on your opportunity to lot your desired Relic.
No one will know what the other person has bid until it is posted on website after each dynamis.
No one is allowed to go into negative points. You cannot bid if you do not have points.
In closing we hope that this new system will help distribute our relic drops to member who are dedicated to our cause and have spent the time to help build the Linkshell to what it has become and will become in the future.
